In this blog we are going to discover the term of Gamification and
understand how this phenomena can be applied in the real business world.
According to Wikipedia,
Gamification is the use of
game-thinking and game mechanics in a non-game
context in order to engage users and solve problems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamification).
Other sources also state similar approach:
Oxford Dictionaries:
"The application of typical elements of
game playing (e.g. point scoring, competition with others, rules of play) to
other areas of activity, typically as an online marketing technique to
encourage engagement with a product or service: "gamification is
exciting because it promises to make the hard stuff in life fun" (http://oxforddictionaries.com/ definition/english/ gamification)
Forbes:
"Gamification, by definition, is about applying game-design
thinking to non-game applications to make them more fun and engaging. Tap into
people’s natural desire to compete and play, and it results in high levels of
engagement." (http://www.forbes.com/sites/ gyro/2012/07/16/gamification- comes-of-age)
So, we do expect a lot of fun during this discovery course. And hope you would enjoy it too.
